Sam has 30 years of experience in numerous phases in the oil and gas industry as well as other industries. He has held numerous staff and leadership positions in engineering, operations, environmental/health/safety, and special projects.
Over the years, Sam has developed excellent skills in management, leadership, planning, project management, teambuilding, organizational development, team facilitation, competency based recruiting, relationship development and public/motivational speaking. As the principle consultant for TheNewtonGroup, Sam currently works with numerous senior business executives and their organizations to assist them in their strategy development, planning, organizational development, project management and leadership development. He currently serves on two boards of directors offering his many years of business experience.
As a professional public speaker, Sam draws on his many years of business experience, family life and martial arts training and studies to provide a blend of humorous and serious anecdotes to educate and motivate listeners.
Steve Turner
Steve brings a wealth of experience working with major corporations from a host of industries, including petrochemical/energy, medicine/health care, higher education, transportation, high tech, hospitality, and manufacturing. He collaborates with clients in designing qualitative and selecting quantitative methods for identifying, assessing, and then creating behavioral norms vital to the immediate and sustained success of their organizations. Steve’s areas of expertise include teambuilding, leadership development, organizational culture change and strategic alliance building. He is also a premier executive coach.
Originally from Minnesota, where he earned a B.A. degree from St. Olaf College, Steve re-located to Texas in 1982 where he completed his Ph.D. in Social Psychology at the University of Houston. Prior to forming two training and development companies, the first in 1993, Steve worked as a university professor, director within the health care industry, private-practice psychotherapist, forensic psychologist, and ropes/challenge course trainer-practitioner. Steve now splits his time between Texas and Minnesota. He is married and has four children.
Jorge Gonzalez
Jorge began his professional life as a group therapist and later as a Program Director in for-profit psychiatric hospitals and treatment centers. After being certified as a Ropes/Challenge Course Facilitator by Project Adventure in 1988, Jorge has since become a Ropes/Challenge Course Trainer, training others to facilitate. Currently, with over eighteen years experience, Jorge contracts with several training and organizational development companies, working with domestic and global organizations. He conducts needs assessments and designs and facilitates interventions addressing team and leadership development, conflict resolution, and other issues toward increasing inter/intra team synergies. Jorge also provides coaching (offering targeted feedback), co-facilitates Myers-Briggs trainings, and facilitates strategic planning sessions.
Jorge Gonzalez was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1964, the son of first generation Cuban parents who had recently fled their communist controlled country. Currently, Jorge lives in Northwest Houston with his wife Angela, and his two newborn twins Benjamin and Aurelia.
Greg Harms
Greg has been involved in strategy, leadership, contract administration, claims preparation, negotiation and resolution, business and financial management, organizational development and quality management for over twenty years in Engineering and Construction service businesses that serve the oil and gas industry. He has provided a variety of specialized services to all organization levels, often including executive management and senior level decision-making bodies. He has helped and supported businesses in a wide variety of industries, market segments and geographies in domestic and international, corporate and satellite locations. Greg's specialized ability to incorporate a clients strategic and tactical objectives into focused project managed execution, coupled with his interpersonal, facilitation and team building skills combine to offer a unique ability to deliver the services of TheNewtonGroup.
